Biography
I entered the world of radio in 1970 on UK9WAA. In 1972 he received his first call sign UA9WDP.
In 1980-85 I was in Czechoslovakia and met there with OK1TN, from whose light hand I received OK8ACW in 1982 becoming the first Soviet amateur radio station in Czechoslovakia. Returning my home Ufa in 1985 I received RW9WR, which had until 2014. In 2003 he moved to live in the Chelyabinsk region and received the call sign RK8A in 2014.
Participated in expeditions to the Kambalnyy isl(UE23RRC), Paramushir isl(UE23RRC/p), Ptichiy isl(R23RRC), Baidukova isl(R24RRC), Bolshoj Shantar isl(R24RRC), Iony isl(RI0C), Mozamique(C96RRC) & Inhaka isl.(C98RRC), Shif isl(EP6RRC), Paramushir Isl(R26RRC), Bogoslova island(R205NEW), Robinson Crusoe isl(XR0ZRC), St. Maria isl(XR1RRC), Suluada isl(TA0/RK8A), Wellington isl(XR8RRC-Patagonia, Chile). Then the pandemic, covid...I didn’t go anywhere.
Twice "Robinson of the Year in Russia" (2017, 2019) and “Expeditioner of the Year” IREF 3rd place in the world (2020). In 2024, I was awarded the "E.T. Krenkel Medal".
I go with my grandson Albert UB9WLJ under the SOTA program to activate peaks, rafting down rivers, traveling in a "Barguzin" 4X4 car around the Urals and Russia.
In 2023 I returned back to my homeland in Ufa, but I am not changing my call sign.
