In the world of amateur radio, a callsign is more than an identification, it is a part of history.

The callsign PY4MG was used in the 1940s by Alvaro Fulgencio Carneiro, my great-great uncle, whose name appears in the Summer 1949 Radio Amateur Callbook, a historical international directory of radio amateurs. The directory lists him in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Alvaro passed away in 1964, but his connection to amateur radio remains part of our family history.

Today, I have the honor of carrying this callsign forward, preserving the memory of a family member who was part of the amateur radio community generations before me.

Um legado familiar que atravessa gerações.

O indicativo PY4MG foi utilizado na década de 1940 por meu tio-avô, Alvaro Fulgencio Carneiro, registrado no catálogo internacional Summer 1949 Radio Amateur Callbook, associado à cidade de Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais.

Alvaro faleceu em 1964, mas sua história permanece viva na memória da família. Hoje, tenho a honra de utilizar novamente esse indicativo, transformando-o em uma homenagem à sua memória e preservando sua ligação com o radioamadorismo.
