Biography

Born in 1954 and ham since 1971. My first callsign was PY2FRW. With that callsign I´ve worked and confirmed almost 300 DXCC countries. In 2004 I´ve changed the callsign to PY2XC, shorter and easier for DX, and restarted the DXCC hunting game from the very beginning. As a CW enthusiast, sometimes (but not frequenty) I venture in SSB, RTTY and DATA for DX, contests and, of course, learn and practice some other languages. Living in the very middle of the largest city in the Americas (11.3 million inhabitants in the city and 22.8 millions inhabitants in the metropolitan area) and due to space constraints, I have a 28 MHz 3 element LFA that fits perfectly in my roof´s available area. As expected, man-made electromagnectic noise is frequently a nightmare. My transceiver is a YAESU FT 950. My QSOs are uploaded to several sites such as QRZ, LoTW and ClubLog in a regular basis.
