Biography

Contact: pe0s@ziggo.nl

Active on 160m to 70cm, all modes and digimodes.
F-licence and also in possession of the licence Marcom-A GMDSS-radio-operator.

In my career l installed, repaired, maintained and surveyed all sorts of communication equipment, radar, autopilots, GPS, cameras and computers on board sea ships.

Being schooled by the most respectable marine electronics companies in Aalborg, Hamburg and of course Rotterdam I developed more and more curiosity in operating radio equipment in stead of servicing it. So in April, 2012 I passed the test for the F-licence.

My interests are very broad, but In general I like to experiment with digital modes on the MF and HF. Having my roots in the offshore branch I mostly have my PC connected to a cloned IC-M710 marine transceiver with an automatic tuner and whip antenna.

In addition to this new found hobby, I am a volunteer with the the national lifeboat museum "Dorus Rijkers", also with the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM). I play trombone in a jazz band and like very much to bike and hike.
