Biography
Hello Visitor,
Somehow you looked me up so I might as well tell you about me. My name is Franciscus but in the Netherlands we also have a "calling name" and mine is Ferry.
Many years ago I started on the Citizen Band with a President Lincoln. In 2020 I found new interest in HAM radio so I did the Dutch Amateur Radio course and exam, and I got my license in july 2020.
My radios are a Kenwood TS 990 and a Yeasu FT 950 and I'm using a DX Commander antenna and a HyEndFed EFHW Vertical (EFHW by hyendcompany attached vertical on a 12 meter DX Commander fiberglas pole) both tuned for 40, 20 and 10 meter bands.
I also made a 20 meter monoband EFHW vertical which I shortenend from 10 meters in length to 7 meters, using a loading coil. Though it's short in length it works fine for DX.
My microphone is a Heil PR781G which works fantastic with my Kenwood radio. Settings are TX EQ/SEL = Highboost 1. Mic gain is at 50 and Proc in and out on 60. TX-FIL 200 - 2800.
To me HAM radio is fascinating for the possibility of talking to people all over the world, HAM radio doesn't have boundaries, you never know who your going to meet on air, and I'm looking forward to have many QSO's.
Thank you for your visit. 73 de PD9RD.
