Biography

My name is Jan Zijlstra. My hometown is Ankeveen 15 km south-east of Amsterdam.
Its a small village without high-rise in a green environment with a lot open space.
I,m living here since 2012.
I had already a F license since 2002 but never used it in practice till 25-07-2022.
More info is coming up soon,73.

Equipment

I,m using a Yeasu FD DX10 in combination with a ENDFED antenna wire 20 mtr long(Fullwave 20 mtr / halfwave 40 mtr).
Matching by a UNUN transformer 1:7 and tuned on 14.190 khz exactly to achieve max bandwidth on the peak for prior use 20 mtr band with VSWR 1.30 till 1.38 (14.101 till 14.350 Mhz.
For 40 mtr is the VSWR 1.24 till 1.60 (7.050 till 7.200 Mhz).
Antenna height is 5 mtr above groundlevel.
My backgarden is 16 mtr long backwards so i have to make a 90 degrees turn for the last 4 mtr antenna-wire and therefore i,m using 2 aluminium pilons 4 mtr long mounted on the garden-fence to achieve that. Antenna-wire is mounted on a pulley-system and there is a weight from 3 Kg tension on the wire to achieve a stabile installation.
The results for the moment with this rig are ok for me to operate HAM radio.
Of course it can always better and for a later stadium i ,m thinking on a Yagi mounted on the shed in the middle of the garden to achieve more sensitivity more effective directional power off course and less QRM but that,s a lot of work but a nice project for in the future I think.
More info and photo,s are coming up soon,73 all the best.
