Biography

Dear fellow HAM,

Born in the magic year 1953 it must have been in the stars to become a HAM operator and up to now i still like it a lot!
As so many people i got interested in radio at around the 70's and started with CB radio that was illegal in The Netherlands at that time.

I passed the Novice exam already in 1981 and was quite active as PD0LUR on 2m VHF until 1988 in the city of Zoetermeer that is located in the west part of The Netherlands near the city of The Hague.
I then moved to a new house and the station was completely dismanteled.

Nothing much happened with the hobby for 18 years until the spring of 2006.
Meanwhile i moved house in 1993 to a little village called Haarzuilens in the province of Utrecht that is situated in the center of the country.
It is since the spring of 2006 that i became active again as a licensed HAM operator.
Due to one of my collegues that is also a HAM operator (PB0MS) the HAM microbe came to live again in 2006 and since then i'm quite active again.

As of March 2011 i have participated weekly in a training lead by PB1A (Anne), PA0WST (Wim), PA2JAC (Jacques) and PA9JOO/P (Joop) to get the theoretical background needed for the full licence examination. These guys did wonderfull work free of charge and lead to the result of the full license.

On March 7th 2012 i succeeded the examination for the Full Licence.
As of March 21st, 2012 my new callsign PA8C is active.
