The Mill in Goidschalxoord was a ruin a few years ago, but it won the first price in a Dutch lottery aka "De BankGiro Loterij". The first price of this lottery was 1 million Euro to rebuild or restore something, like this Mill, or other project in its original state. It was possible to enter your project "in the game" which would be judged by the Dutch people who voted for you specific project.
The old Mill in Goidschalxoord had won this and with the money it could be restored into a "new" and working Mill again.

Opening took place in 2010 and the SES PA6GST was then activated by radio amateurs on the bands from UHF/VHF and HF in several modes. The callsign was activated for the first time in 2011 and again during the "Mills On The Air" weekend in May 2014. The PA6GST logfile for 2011 and 2014 were already uploaded to E-QSL and LoTW. QSL cards via the bureau will follow soon by Global QSL.

This year 2021 we were active with the call again in the Mills on the Air weekend in May. Due to COVID-19 it was a small activation. If Corona rules permit it and the mill is open to the public we will be active on the actual location near the mill, but if not and the mill is closed on Saturday I can activate the call/mill from my home QTH which is nearby. I can see the mill from my shack window, distance less than 400 mtr. In both cases I will be using an Endfed antenna for HF and a vertical for VHF/UHF. From both locations we have the option to use digital modes, like the "newer ones" FT4 and FT8, but also RTTY and PSK are an option.
Now we are finished for this years activation we can say it was a success. The logbook is now also uploaded to this website, E-QSL were already sent out and because Global QSL is gone and seized to exist, we are forced to look for another option for a paper QSL card. We will keep you updated on this subject.

I hope all is okay and we will be "ON AIR" next year 2022 in the Mills On The Air weekend.

Stay safe and maybe we can work each other in the Mills on the Air weekend next year!

Worked DXCCs:

In the 2014 edition of this MOTA weekend we used a Yaesu FT-897 with a G5RV on the Palstar AT2K tuner as Inv.V and a home-made Endfed antenna, for UHF/VHF a Yaesu FT-7800 with a Diamond X-50. All equipment, power supplies and 2 laptops including our coffee machine, was powered by a cheap and simple, but yet very fine (petrol using) working power supply of 2800 Watt at maximum.

In the 2021 edition we used an Icom IC-7100 and the old faithful FT897 from Yaesu with an EndFed and with the use of laptops and software we also did digital modes like FT8 on most bands.

In 2022 the set-up plans are two IC-7100 rigs for all modes, we will try to be active if all is well at the time.

Bye for now.
