Biography
I started working with electronics at age 12 (born in 1952). I built a tube receiver for aviation to receive the nearby Schiphol Tower. After my marriage, I obtained my first radio license, PE1EEL. Then I took the Morse code exam, and the call sign became PA3BQO. Electronics became my profession, test design engineer in telecommunications (Philips, AT&T Lucent Technologies). After retiring, I had another busy hobby: steam engines. Now I'm working on a GWR King on 5-inch. But being an amateur radio operator also kept me going, so I bought a second-hand Yeasu FT1000 (d). After moving, I started experimenting with an antenna, which is currently far too short due to limited space.
