Biography

I was always interested in Radio. It started in the early '50-ties; I was fascinated by the green shining "EM 80 Magic-eye" of my parents Telefunken Radio. Later on in the early '60-ies I build my first receiver the Philips PIONIER I (crystal diode) receiver. Between 1964 and 1968 I became a Broadcasting-DX-er (BDXC-336), specialized on the Tropical-, Medium wave band and North Sea Off Shore Pirate Radio Stations. I have a lot of QSL cards from them. I also recorded these pirate transmissions on tape. From a historical point of view I transferred these tape recordings to the Dutch Radio Archives in Hilversum, the Netherlands.

I have SWL call signs (NL336, BDXC336) and a Radio Amateur Technical Licence since 15 July 1967. I obtained my (Full) General Licence CEPT class A, after a successful Morse Code Examination on 12 December 2001. In a matter of fact; exactly 100 years after MARCONI had its first successful Trans Atlantic Radio experiment!

My special contest call signs were: PD3RSM (1969 - Idzerda Memorial Contest), PA60RSM (2006 - VERON 60 years).

Received QSL cards will be 100 % confirmed. My contest QSO's will be mainly verified by eQSL.

I am QSL manager for our special event clubstation call signs such as PA750AMF, PI65AMF, PH600NYK, PA90IARU and PA18FIFA. Direct QSL can be sent to my address above, with Self Addressed Envelope and 2USD/EUR.
