----------------------------------------------
Hello, my name is Dick and i live in Amersfoort.
In 1977 (11 years old) i came into contact with the radio hobby as a scout during the Jamboree On The Air. In the early 80s i was very active listening on short- and mediumwave, and collecting QSL cards from broadcast stations around the world.
Transmitting also started this period. While the most people in the Netherlands were using legal FM CB sets, the challenges of the 27 MHz on free frequencies with other modes and higher transmitting power was already part of the hobby, i.e. working the world during good conditions....and not just the neighboorhood ;-)
In 1987 I got my official amateur radio license and my amateur radio call PE1MBR. At the begin of 2018 i changed my call and now it is PA0MBR.
I am active on most ham radio bands but most interested in the world below 1 MHz. For me, building equipment for this low frequencies is an important part of the radiohobby.
