Biography

Hi, I'm Thieu Mandos, an active ham as PA∅M (former PA∅MPM 1975..2003) and an enthousiastic SWL, as NL199 since 1969. Main activities are building electronics, writing a monthly column in our national radiomagazine and organizing activities for the radio-active starters. You can hear me every year in the Jamboree on the Air, 3rd weekend of October. Every year during the 2nd weekend of February we have the PACC contest in which you have a good chance to work me. My brother Anton is very active as ON6NL please meet him on HF. For who wants to read more about my activities, read the monthly column for SWLs which I write already for 45 years in the Dutch club magazine "Electron". I had the honor of being "the Ham of the year" in Holland for 1999, thanks to all who stimulated me.

I like to do some home brewing. I have many projects under construction, some of them you can see on: www.swl.dse.nl .
When I'm on the air, I recently got a IC7610, i use sometimes an Expert 1k3 and as antenne a 40 and 80 meters dipole at abt. 5m high plus a 6-band HEX-Beam at 8 m high.

Do me a favour and send also QSL to the SWLs. When their report isn't that well, send them anyway a QSL card with instructions for them how to do it better next time. Take part of the positive way to educating the next generation of hams.
