Biography

I was interested in radio from about the age of 10. When I was about 16, I was building 3m transmitters, which were not legal. I got my first callsign in 1979, PE1CWE. In the early 90's I did my CW exam and my callsign was changed to PA3FTD. In 2006, when it was possible (again) to chose your own callsign, I changed to PA2JS and finally into PA0JSY. After having used SSB, FT8 et cetera, I returned back to CW. Although I am capable detecting higher speed CW, I prefer 18 to 20 wpm and ragchewing. Working special stations is nice, but I am not a great fan of only 5NN - 73 - TU. The microphone I only use on 2m FM for local ragchew. XYL Hester is my princess. We laugh a lot and she let me do my radio-thing. To her all equipment is "black with knobs", hi.

Equipment

Equipment is changing all the time, but at this moment IC7610, IC705 and an IC9700. On the roof a combiyagi 7/11 el. for 2m and 70cm, a 16 el. 23cm yagi, a Comet vertical for 6m/2m/70cm and in the garden a Hustler 6BTV.
