Biography

I was born on May 28, 1964 in s'-Gravenzande in the Westland south of the Netherlands.
As a little boy I was fascinated by radio.
When I was nine years old, I came to live in Amersfoort.
That's when the radio virus really started.
Together with a friend (now PE2SIX) I got two walky talkies, they barely made it across the street but we had a great time playing with them. Even to the point where we connected an external antenna to them and extended, by accident not knowledge, the range. Now I was able to talk to people as far as 2 km away from my home. WOW

So I bought a 27mc AM CB radio. (At that time it was still illegal to use it or even to own one). While playing with this radio I heard SSB signals for the first time and was instantly interested what these strange sounds where. This kicked off a great journey in collecting radios.

Old military receivers, An HRO50R, several boatanchors, racal and R&S passed thru my shack.

I listen a lot to the HAM bands and also decoded all kinds of signals, etc.
Now I mostly listen with SDRplay RSPdx, a Kenwood R-5000 and some VHF/UHF receivers. I've been using SDR the most in recent years.
As an antenna I have a Wellbrook ALA 1530 (with rotor), an MLA-30+, Discone and some other antennas.
These are all in my attic.
