Biography

Hello and welcome to my page :-)

My name is Allan and I'm born the year of 1960 in Vejle Denmark.
Back in the late 70's ealy 80's I lived and worked a few years in Salford "Manchester UK", and then laiter on I spent 3½ years in Norway.
Moved back home to Denmark in 1985, and I'm now living in a small village a few miles south of my hometown.

I've been in the transport business for more than 45 years, working with Ships, TAXI, Busses, Trucks and Trains.
I retired in 2024, so now I have a lot of time for all my hobbies, like Sailing, Fishing, Cooking, Vintage mopeds, 50 USA cars, playing Guitar, and not to forget DXing :-p

As early as I can remember I've always been fascinated by electronics, music and radio equipment.
My first memorys about getting infected with the radio virus was when I was 5 - 6 years old, and I were listenting to some very strange speaking AM radio stations together with my father on our 1960 Gratz Amabile 1052 kitchen tabletop radio.

I do still have that radio, and it's working fine, even if it's 65 years old like me :-p

I've been on the air since 1974 on and off, and I have done many dxing, collected loads of QSL cards from around the world on the 11 metre band SSB mode, which has always been my favorite mode too work propregation or groundwave when i started radio back in my youth.

In 1978 I borrowed a YAESU FR 101S SW receiver from "OZ1KAI" a very good friend of mine for many many years, which introduced me to the world of short wave listening.

But I always wanted to work the HF Bands and I do really enjoy the hobbie, so finally some years back I grab the bull by the horn, and took my full HAMRADIO operator license.

Ham radio is a great hobby and has provided me with many wonderful memories, and I learn something new from each QSO I had, mostly because I`m more of "lets have a QSO" guy rather than a 5/9 merchant... :-)
