Biography

Been a HAM since 1980,and have worked mostly with homebrewed gear - both on HF and VHF. But in the summer 2005,when I was retired from the ROYAL DANISH AIR FORCE after 42 years of service, I bought a YAESU FT-897D and a LDG AT-897 antennatuner, put up a GAP TITAN DX vertical antenna, and really enjoyed having time to be a ham again.

My primary transceiver is now a YAESU FT-2000D + DMU-2000 with 200 watt output.

I have a YAESU FT-1000MP as back-up, and it's also a very nice rig to work with.

I live at BORNHOLM ISLAND (IOTA EU-030), it's in fact the easternmost part of DENMARK, the island is situated between SWEDEN and POLAND.

My equiptment at present time:

YAESUFT-2000D +YAESU DMU-2000 + Yaesu MD-100 deskmike

YAESU FT-1000MP + Yaesu MD-100 deskmike

YAESU FT-897D

YAESU FT-817ND 5 watt qrp , ( it is my intention to use it for portabel and mobile)

AP 700 for 4 meter-band

Homemade 5 band Catalina HF-Transceiver + homemade power-amplifier 500 watt output

Homemade VHF-Transceivers ( 2 m band)

and 4 differentHandheld for 4m, 2m and 70cm bands

Antennas: Cushcraft MA5B Mini-beam 10-12-15-17-20 m + Endfeed longwire for all bands. The mini-beam is a fantastic antenna for it's size. I can work what I hear. The longwire is a piece of crap, but I don't have space for a decent wire- antenne, I use it mainly for local contacts on 80 and 40 m.

For mobile: OUTBACK-2012

For 4 m : 1/2 wave Vertical

For 6 m :1/2 wave Vertical

I am not a contest guy - more for ragchewing.

I work some digital modes, using DM780
