Biography

My story
I studied radio and tv technician in the mid 70's.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I have not been able to exercise this profession.
But the electronics microbe stayed in me.

A customer / radio amateur who visited our DIY store brought me into contact with this beautiful hobby. In which I could experiment with my at school learned electronics.

In 1978 I obtained my ON7CP license.

On May 16, 1978 I made my first QSO on the 2 meter band. Two years later I bought an HF transiever with which I was active in SSB and CW. I experimented also with SSTV, RTTY, ATV,
Self-construction interested me greatly built various devices and modems. The time before everything could be sent, decoded and decrypted through the computer.

February 1990 a strong storm decided to blow my beautiful antennas off the roof.
My job took me completely, the shack became a nursery, and....... time passed.
I payed my license fee every year.
The microbe stayed alive and I thought I would be able to become active again one day,..... if I retired.
In 2020, Covid came with its lockdowns. Lonely times, an Ipad and Google let me discover the online SDR receivers.

In February 2022 we had another very strong storm....
And just this storm gave me the click to look for my old Kenwood Trio JR-599 and TX-599. Get them from above the dust. I ordered an Endfed kit antenna. I was very pleased with this small self-build project.

On that same Ipad, I discovered how much has changed in those 33 years. Computer-controlled programs for every fashion, many new bands, digital fashions, and many, many websites with lots of information.
I had to follow a reintegration path. But step by step, week by week, I discovered new things.

Currently I work with a FT-2000 and my Endfed antenna, with which I have already made beautiful contacts.

I found my logbook back. My last QSO was on August 03, 1989, and on May 18, 2022, I wrote another QSO in my log.
I was QRT for almost 33 years.
I am back live and kicking

Hope to work you on one of the bands.
