Biography

My ex-call are ON2SD, then ON5TWS.

In 1977 i have received the "virus" of radio from 2 of my teachers, Max, ON4KM and Claude ON4FY.

I work in Namur as photographer in the Ministery,as responsible for the photo and video section for the Walloon Region.

I reply only to direct qsl (ask me my address via @) or via buro. NO eqsls please - I DO NOT REPLY TO E-QSLs.

As equipment i am using at home:

Kenwood TS 2000 and also a collector Kenwood TS 2000 "LE" Limited Edition, n° 036/300; and MA5B 10-20m antenna, it's a wonderful antenna; also Sirio Tornado 5060 for the 6m. I have also a vertical Sirio 2016 (10/11m antenna) how works vy good from 7 to 30 MHz. A homemade PKW 40/80 wire antenna for 40 and 80m; and a 80m 1/2 wave, homemade, for 80m, with HyGain balun. Works magnificent.

Power: normally 100 watts. But when it's a new one for us or a big pile up, we use the SPE Expert 1K-FA lineair to put in the air approximatively 1200 watts.

Mobile: we're using the Yaesu FT 857D.

Portable: Magnum 1012 10-12m AM-FM-SSB walkye-talkye. 5w SSB and works great. I have a lot of fun with it.

My collection: my first CB transceiver from 1977, Hy Gain V, also Turner mikes, the Turner + Three; the Turner +3B, the Turner +2, Turner SuperSidekick. All those mikes and CB works yet perfect and sometimes I use one of my Turner +3B with the TS 2000.

My best contacts, French Polynesia at home in FM with 20 watts, New Caledonia and Japan in FM as mobile with 100 watts; Russia with the Magnum (5w and little original antenna) in SSB.

By the way i hate the contacts like "ON4XA 59, 73's" I like real qso's. Like on the //band. I still like the // band and my group, Sugar Delta. SD how is now not only 11m DX group, but also the 1st international Ham operators DX group.

During the Easter holidays 2004, I went to Trinidad, to my good friend, "my Carib brother", also a ham operator, Julien 9Z4FZ who I know since 1994.

I contacted Julien in all HF bands. I've been active there as 9Z/ON5TWS

Big thanks to him, Candy his wife, and all 9Z operators.

I am member of

IRESC 's President Belgium, International Radio Emergency Support Coalition http://www.irescintl.com/ & http://beam.to/iresc

SD Sugar Delta international DX Group, group founder member http://beam.to/sdham

If you send your QSL direct, I will reply direct if you join 3 us$ or 2€. If not, QSL will be sended via Buro.

Tnx. I hope to catch you soon again on the air!
