Biography

I was born in 1950, I have a radioelectrician's qualification that I practiced in particular in the Belgian aeronautical SABENA Company.
As a child, so far as I can remember I was fascinated by the universe of the radio, the morse code, the transmitter-receivers with their small lights of all the colors and the hot smell of the tubes and their reddened filaments, the dials watched by the tilted operator who, his earphones riveted on ears and fingers of the hand on the manipulator listens religiously through the noise and the fading of the band...
In 1967 I worked at Prévost And Son, a wholesaler of audio equipment who also sold the famous transmitters and the receivers Geloso who came to us straight of Italy, I remember still packed in wooden boxes filled with straw.
But in the time this universe was completely forbidden to me, and it is only much later as an adult that I was able to realize my dream, in the late 70's it was the big rush of the citizen band in Belgium devices cb were accessible and cheap and the solar cycle 21 was very favorable with great hf propagation, which makes me feel nostalgic. I learnt that there was a club radio ham to Evere where Alex ON4AY gave courses to take the radio amateur examinations, thanks Alex !
There was in the time a crazy enthusiasm and an extraordinary emulation for the emission - reception, the club was filled with enthusiastic candidates who wanted to become OM, I am certain that the strong hf propagation the cycle 21 played a big part in it .
Finally in 1984 I take the examination and became ON1KRK then in 1985 I pass the examination cw and became ON4PA.
I like all that touches the radio and its universe through the history.
My philosophy, it is to make of the radio with simple ways, personal realizations when it is possible and small and medium HF power.

thank you for reading 73 ! Paul

One of my others hobbies and interest is to play baroque keyboard music with M.A.O technics , video example can be found at :
