INTERESTING INFO FOR ALL SWLs
Andreas, DL0144SWL has created an SWL logo and he has provided the one for free use to all SWLs (e.g. on websites, QSL cards...). You can download the SWL logo on Andreas' website: https://swldxing.wordpress.com/2021/01/02/swl-logo/
Thanks, Andreas!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let me introduce my uninteresting person. My name is Rom@n and was born in 1969. My first steps in ham radio has begun as an S.W.L. OK1-31457 in 1984. I'm also a holder of HAM licence OK1DSA (see my profile on the QRZ.COM).
I'm a CW enthusiast. My copy CW is by ears - I don't use any software to read the CW. I'm an avid SWL contester (see below). I don't "listen" digital modes.
I'm also a holder of SWARL SWL "callsign" OK1001SWL since 01 June 2009 (certificate #789).
I hate DX clusters. I like the magic of finding stations by tuning the band. For example, a hunter also does not have an app that shows him where a deer is in the forest (at least I hope).
I DON'T USE WEB SDR RECEIVERS - I USE ONLY MY OWN RECEIVERS AND ANTENNAS!
I live in an antenna restrictive area - I can use only short dipoles or verticals.
My teacher at the beginning of my ham radio steps was my father, ex OK1GR (also ex OK1JIK), who passed away in 1998.
My other hobbies are computer (I like Linux), cycling, photography, good books and good food.
My job: I'm a freelance web designer - https://web50design.cz (in Czech language only)
SWLs ARE NOT SECOND-CLASS HAMs!
SWL isn't a synonym for a beginner.
Once SWL, always SWL!
Long live SWL!
