Biography

I was born 16.3.1936 at Riihimäki, 70 km north of Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. I served the Finnish State 37 years, 7 years for State Railways as a radio engineer and 30 years for Finnish Def. Forces. I retired in 1996.
Since 1990 I'm living with my wife Seija in Turkhauta near Riihimäki city.

SWL OH3-362 since july 1950. The whole world opened to me with radio waves and I knew that my destination world be radio engineer.

I am OH3RU since 16.6.1952. First QSO from my own station with OH4NT 15.11.1952. QRV 1952-1961, 99% CW, DXCC 1959 with 109 confirmed countries. QRT 1960-1968 for studies, marriage and work.

Second call sign OH2LG 1960 (first second call sign in Finland after WW2), QRV from Espoo 1968-1973 on 2 meters and HF CW, WAE I CW in 1973.

Back to home town Riihimäki in 1973, OH3RU working QRP. Novice editor of Radioamatööri 1973-1975. Back to dx work 1978 with HW-100, TS-180S and 41-meter Windom antenna. 250 countries confirmed 1986. My special interest was to work OH amateurs, and I was honored this working with OHA 2500 #5 and OHCA I CW #5.

My callsigns are now OH3RU, OG3R and OH4NT. For now I prefer working contests and 5nn-QSOs as OG3R with my old "ASA" hand pump. My wrist is no more as quick as before, but 16 wpm will go. By the way, I'll answer all incoming QSLs. My DXCC is 300+ worked.

I have been a member of SRAL ry since 1952, working as the novice trainer and the novice editor of Radioamatööri from 1990 to 1999 and as the vice president from 1998 to 2000, A honorary member of SRAL since 2002.

I have been a very active member of the Riihimäki Radio Amateur Club OH3AD since 1957 working as club secretary, novice trainer, vice president and president from 1986 to 1996. I became a honorary member of OH3AD Club in 2005.
