Biography

Equipment

Today:
Radios: 3 pieces IC-706, one a briefcase version for camps and cabins
Antennas: Cuscraft R7000 (Coil connections repaired properly), separate dipoles for 1,8, 3,5, 5 MHz
Digimode and log/qrz computer:Lenovo M73, Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS
Digimode software: FLDIGI 4.2.03 + FLRIG
Interface: HomeMade, calvanic isolation, PTT is VOX-type
Operator: Age 67, licenced 1979
My favorite modes: CW (best, traditional long-handled Morse key), PSK, Olivia, RTTY (Nothing FT-..) rarely SSB
I often use my home station remotely from my cottage or club or upstairs at home.

Remote use: Ubuntu 24.04.03 LTS, Remmina remote access software, works well...
Remote VPN software: Tailscale

Cottage antennas: Cushcraft R7000, (Coil connections repaired properly),
Dipole 3,5 MHz

At the cottage I use a local 7-30 MHz R7000 antenna and on a computer over the internet remote station from my home desk with digimoids at the same time.

Sometimes I have a perfect day off: I go upstairs, put a big TV on as a screen and remotely access the downstairs station via the internal network. It's nice to work from a soft lazy castle on digital modems, even all day long, without any rush.
