Biography

Licensed as HS freshman in 1969 as WN1LHK, sophmore year passed General class as WA1LHK, junior year passed Advanced class and passed Extra in senior year, 1973, then changed callsign to more cw friendly, NR1B.

Have not been involved in amateur radio since. Now pandemic 2020. Decided to semi-retire (65), shelter-in, acquire some SDR gear, (IT guy), and am enjoying SDRuno panadapter and HRD software control with digital modes like FT8 and PSK31.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Icom 7300 xcvr\MARS mod, MFJ 993B ATU, W7FG 80-10m doublet made from 600ohm ladderline,no coax.
SDRplay RSP1-A SDR receiver connected to xcvr via RadioAnalog PTRX-7300.
An I7 laptop runs HRD, SDRuno and WSJT-X with an extended screen 50" LCD to display panadapter.
