Biography

First licensed as KN0VSH in 1959. Primary focus is on low band DX'ing on CW.
I have achieved 9B DXCC (160 thru 10 meters) and am on the mixed DXCC Honor Roll.

Following a 15 year career as an electrical engineer in the aerospace industry, I moved to teaching math, electronics, and engineering at St. Louis Community College. I was promoted to full Professor in 1999, and retired from full-time teaching in 2007. I continue to teach at the College on a part-time basis.

Equipment

Elecraft transceivers: KX1, K2, and K3/P3, with Ten Tec Centurion 1.0 KW amplifier.
I have limited space for antennas, but use one of the following in my back yard: Cushcraft MA160V (short vertical for Top Band only); Cushcraft MA8040V (for 80 and 40 meters); N6BT Bravo 7K vertical dipole, which can be manually setup for one band in the 40-10 meter range.
