Biography

Formerly K9TDI.

I picked up the SWL bug in the 70's with my fathers shortwave radios but didn't get a ham ticket until 1997 as a tech and played on VHF and 6m. After many years of inactivity I passed the General exam in March 2014 to fulfill a childhood dream from 30 years ago to get on HF. I passed the Amateur Extra Class exam in January 2016.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

I currently have an Yaesu FTdx-101D and 1200, Yaesu FT-847 with a LDG YT-847 autotuner, Yaesu Quadra amp, Kenwood TS-940S, a classic Panasonic RF-4900 and Kenwood R-5000 receiver and SP-430 speaker for SWL and other things in the shack powered by an Yaesu FP1030A. 2m/440 antenna is Comet vertical at 30 ft. 6m loop at 30ft. Cushcraft 6m beam at 65 ft and a Mosley TA33 tri-band beam at 60 which is shared along with the tower on my property with W9YE. Mobile includes a Yaesu FTM-350R dual band and a Kenwood TS-480SAT in my Ford Super Duty, an 18 year old Kenwood TM-G707A in my Chevy Suburban K2500 and a Powerwerx DB-750X in my Sprinter van RV.

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
