Wayne, Illinois, is a small village of 2700 people, nestled between the larger communities of St. Charles, Elgin, and Bartlett, about 35 miles Northwest of Chicago, near the Fox River in an area generally referred to as the Fox Valley region of Illinois. Wayne is heavily wooded, and homes tend to be set on properties of about 2 acres size or more, which has led to many homeowners owning or riding horses in the area. The village has only one retail store, an auto repair shop, and its own historic small Post Office, along with the village hall.
