QTH is Trafalgar, Johnson County, Indiana. I have a passion for Amateur Radio and Shortwave Listening, as the hobby is filled with many great people and cool technologies.
Licensed with a Novice ticket at age 15 (1979) as KA9EVV, and Extra class (call KO9C) a short time later. I held the callsign KO9C for the next 30 years. I'm now N9ICE for the remaining chapter of my ham life. Also hold FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License.
A life-long audiophile and automation enthusiast. I also love to tinker with muscle cars, Saturday hot rod cruise-ins, vintage audio gear, classic rock music, lawn and garden, dining out, and enjoying my morning coffee.
After a hiatus from radio from 1996 thru 2022, I recently reconfigured the station to work the digital modes, and got hooked on the FT8/FT4 bug. Since Jan-19-2026, I've earned WAC, WAS, and 130 countries worked and 93 confirmed on LoTW. I'm sure I'll re-engage on SSB and CW soon, but I'm having a blast experimenting on the digital modes at the moment.
After a twenty-some year career in automotive engineering and program management, I'm now in my second career as a self-employed Capex Project Manager in pharmaceutical. My career has been extremely fulfilling and has allowed me to see many fascinating and interesting places and learn something new everyday.
I value my beautiful wife, family, kitty cats, and spending time enjoying my hobbies.
