Biography

I was trained by the US Navy to be an electronics technician. I served for 7 1/2 years and was stationed aboard the nuclear powered missile submarine, the USS Alexander Hamilton, SSBN-617. I also worked for TRW as an electronic technician and then worked as a civil servant for the Defense Logistic Agency as a quality assurance representative. My last job was at the China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division at China Lake, California as a software integration and flight test engineer on the F/A-18 jet aircraft program. I was promoted to be the Foreign Military Sales country manager for Canada.

I was first licensed as a ham June 1976 as a Novice. I upgraded to Technician, General, Advanced, and Extra Class license. I am retired and having a great time. 73s.

My HF station consist of an Icom IC-7300, Icom IC-7100 (all band, all mode) and a Yaesu FT-991A radios. HF antennas are a 5 band Hex beam w/rotor, a 161 ft long wire with a AH-4 remote tuner, a HyGain AV-18VS vertical for 6m, and a MFJ-969 manual turner. My VHF/UHF station consist of the Icom IC-7100 w/D-Star, a Yaesu FT-991A w/C4FM) and Yaesu FT-70DR handheld. My VHF/UHS antenna is a Diamond X510MA 14 ft vertical antenna.
