| Biography Welcome to my station. I have been an amateur radio operator since 1973. Started as WN7ZCJ, then upgraded license to N7IEQ a few months later. WA7VTW was my math teacher first year of highschool. And Rudy had a ham station in his class room that got my attention. I purchased an HW16 and VFO kit, built it at home and drove my parents mad as I learned morse and hung antenna wires from the fence in the back yard. I have portable operated on sailboats as I explored trans-Pacific sailing crossing from California to Hawaii in 2013. Been living in the mountains in southwest Washington state USA since moving from Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1992 when we built the house and a year later my shop and ham shack. I bought a yagi tri-bander and put it up, ran 100 watts mostly until June 2026 when my Mercury Lite showed up. I went totally battery power off grid and can operate 500 Watts now and I operate most modes on all bands, with battery lasting for about 5 hours on one battery charge. Equipment Kenwood ts440 and TS590 - Mercury Lite Amp | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
