Biography

This callsign suffix is no longer in use, as of Nov 17, 2025. All contacts after that date are under the main callsign and logged as such.

To track me on APRS, change the callsign in the aprs.fi search field to N7FAN-14.

I am a truck driver and I mainly haul Aviation Fuel products, delivering to airports and locations in Arizona and the surrounding states. While I reside in sunny Arizona, I spend a lot of time on the road.

I've been licensed since 1983 and have enjoyed a lot of what Ham Radio offer. Want to know where I'm at? You can locate me on APRS.fi. I also post my contacts to my online logbook, which you can view at the link above this text.

I upload all of my contacts to LOTW and QRZ. eQSL is a big problem for portable/mobile operations, because of having to have multiple locations with specific operating dates, etc. If you need a confirmed grid square contact, or a contact from the state/location I was operating from, you can email me and I'll look up the contact and send you a digital QSL (printable), confirming the contact.

If you send me a digital QSL Card, I will return one to you! Otherwise, the contact will only be digitally confirmed via LOTW and QRZ.

73, David

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Working Mobile from a 2026 Kenworth T-680, on a FT-857D into a mirror mount MFJ-1699T vertical.

I also have a Anytone AT-5888uv running into a Comet dual band antenna mounted on the back of the sleeper.

The Anytone is installed so that I can operate it from the driver's seat, but the Yaesu is mounted in the sleeper. I have to be parked to use the HF radio.
