Setup and Modes
I enjoy relatively low power operation on HF bands using CW and Digital conversational modes. Space constraints, trees, and a hilly environment limit antenna configurations, so I use primarly wire antennas - 40M EFHW roof mounted & 10M roof mounted vertical. My rigs are a Yaesu FTdx-10 running 5 - 20W. I also have a Elecraft KX-3 for portable operation.

QTH and Background
Operation is from home in Menlo Park, on the west side of Silicon Valley. I'm married, with two cats, and working at a consulting firm I founded 14 years ago. Trained as an electrical engineer, I enjoy making home brew equipment and designing antennas. Ham radio is a great excuse to do some actual engineering.

Context
Was formerly WB6JNY and upgraded to Extra recently, and changed my call sign to something more CW friendly. Besides radio, I enjoy the outdoors, music, reading, and travel.
