Biography

OK, a little about me.
Well, I started out as a technician class in 2010, with the call of KF7JCD. Then upgraded to general class on 01/22/2011 in Flagstaff, AZ, which is where we lived at the time. Later in 2011, I applied for my vanity call which I have now, W7GST. We have since relocated to New Mexico but I don't see any changes for a new call as of now, maybe later.
Mostly my radio time is in my mobile since the move, as I travel to and from work. Normal drive time is 'bout an hr one way so I get some time to try DX'ing which I enjoy a lot. I do get some local contacts as well. Enjoy 2 meter mobile as well as HF.
Other hobbies are woodworking, light welding, enjoying my time with family and friends. We have two dogs to keep us busy as well, HI HI.
Well that's bout all for now, Thanks for the visit and come back soon for more updates (hope to get up new COBBWEB antenna soon !!)

73 for now,
Larry W7GST---W7GST/M

UPDATE: AS OF 05/2022...............NEW CALL, N4GST as of 07/01/2022

First and foremost, I'm married to a wonderful XYL of 34 wonderful years, we have one Daughter, and two grandchildren, one girl, one boy.
We started out from Calif, born and breed, but after a career change in 2003 and a stroke in 2005, we relocated to Flagstaff, AZ for a few years. Snow got to be a bit too much for us, so we moved to Albuquerque, NM. Then after retiring from career with major Railroad, we relocated for hopefully the last time to Asheboro, NC. Been here now for 3+ yrs, May will mark yr4.

I spent 6 yrs in the U.S.NAVY, then a couple yrs in U.S.ARMY NATIONAL GUARD. I have 2 HONARABLE DISCHARGES which I'm very Proud to have. Very Proud to be a U.S.VETERAN.
Spent quite a few years in construction before moving on to a great career in the Railroad Industry. worked that in Calif, AZ, NM. Then time came to retire, enjoy more family time AND ham radio time, hi hi. XYL is good with it so that helps.
Hobbies are Ham Radio, woodworking, trying DIY antennas.

Well, I'm starting to ramble on so I thank you for stopping by and giving me a read, hope to see ya on the bands soon if we haven't done so yet, if we have, I thank you for that as well.

Best regards to all and great DX, MAY THE AIRWAVES BE KIND TO YOU,

Larry N4GST 7 3
