Biography
Began my radio mis-adventures in the early 1960's, when my step-father became the owner of a taxi company, East Milton. My mother was the primary dispatcher Monday through Friday, school schedule.
After a second phone line was installed, Mom became over whelmed one morning, I was looking over her shoulder and tried to help. Grabbing the microphone, began dispatching the fleet. A power trip, telling adults where to go!
Life goes on, and I eventually joined the USARMY, an acronym for UNCLE SAM AINT RELEASED ME YET, and began using radios for serious work. Taught me how to converse on the radio, without upsetting the FCC. It kept me from fornicating in an ascending direction.
After the military, kept my hands on a microphone using CB. Then got involved with CAP, and acquired a few radios, but life got in the way, not life imprisonment. Wait, is there a difference between life imprisonment and marriage? Figured at that time, put my collection of radios to use outside of CAP, legally.
Got to test 1 February 1993, and the ticket arrived on 23 March 1993. Been congesting some of the bands ever since. For a while in the mid 1990's, was the glue for the MIDNIGHT MADNESS INSOMNIAC'S NET on the 145.230. Took a two week vacation, came back, and the group had evaporated.
Now struggling to op from the wrong side of Winter Hill in Somerville, Ma. 02145-1538.
When awake, I keep the radios scanning, so if you drive near Winter Hill, give me a shout. 146.520, MMRA Network, or the Phantom NET
