| Biography I've been licenced since 1995, originally as MM1AVA and was restricted to VHF and above. In 2000, I attended the RSGB Morse Campaign in Harrogate and passed the 5WPM test which would have given me a MM5 Callsign and access to HF with 100w. I didn't bother applying for a licence as passing the 5WPM removed the "barrier" and exactly a month later, I passed the 12WPM test and got this callsign (MM0DXC)
I'm based 10 miles to the East of Edinburgh. My friend Bob (GM4UYZ) and I teach the licence structure which takes up half a year of Saturdays over the winter but it is something that we both feel passionate about. We feel that we are putting something back in to this wonderful hobby. I believe that amateur radio should be fun and accessable to all that are genuinely intersted. I do try my best to encourage "new blood" into our hobby and all that goes with it.
I'm mainly interested in HF contesting with the GM2T group and am a very active member.
