Biography

Hello and thank you for visiting my page.

Hi I'm Danny, Known as 2E0KPX now M9UOK from Leigh-On-Sea in the county of Essex. I have been interested in radio from a young age starting out with CB radio. Wanting to get onto the amateur bands I decided to be one of the first guinea pigs to take the foundation Exam back in 2002. After passing the exam I held the call sign of M3RLQ for some time before moving on up the ladder to my current call.

I've enjoyed working the world on 50w or less on HF and when conditions are poor I move over to VHF/UHF where I also enjoy working the AMSATS. I wanted to make it my mission in 2018 to talk through amateur satellites both FM/SSB. After much reading and watching YouTube clips I bought myself a 2m/70cm Yagi beam and designed and built my own tilt bracket to accommodate both the antennas. The whole structure being light weight, thrown in the car along with a 110ah leisure battery two radio's for full duplex and away we go.

Two Tree Island (JO01HM) is a favourite spot of mine for playing radio where out in the open there is absolutely no QRM and with the added salt water for HF days out - this get me all over world conditions permitting. My home QTH (JO01HN) is in a dip and isn't a great location for radio so if you can just about make out my call sign via satellite this is the reason why!

I have added a few photos of past antennas and the present.

Please feel free to drop me a line if you wish and I will respond.

See you on the air soon.

Danny
