| Biography I'm Matt (M7ILR) and live near Cambridge, England.
I aquired my licence and passed my exam in April 2025.
I've been interested in radio since the age of about 8, and started working in broadcast radio at 17-years-old.
I'm a member of the Cambridgeshire Repeater Group, the BBC Amateur Radio Group (G8BBC) and The Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB).
I log QSOs and QSLs in QRZ's Logbook, Club Log, HRDLog and ARRL's Logbook of the World.
Why my call sign M7ILR?
I've worked in broadcast radio for over 20 years and most of that has been in Community Radio, at the BBC and also Independent Local Radio (commercial radio).
Independent Local Radio is known as 'ILR' in the radio industry, so when I saw the callsign was available, I thought, "that's the one!". Worked DXCCs: |
