Biography

Hello, my name is Ian Shepherd

I’m located in the city of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, which is in the central United Kingdom

I am a former serviceman with the British Army (Royal Corps of Transport). I am a member of the Royal Signals Amateur Radio Society, my number is 4362.

I have had an interest in radio's since the early 80's, sharing the hobby with my father. When Citizens Band Radio was popular worldwide. The CB was a great learning tool in communications and HF propagation.Solar Cycle 21 helped give me an addiction to chasing Dx. The thrill of chasing Dx is still as strong today with Solar Cycle 25. It was much later on in life before I finally studied for an Amateur radio licence,

I admit to dropping out of the hobby for a while, but am now back and have recently passed the UK amateur license and have become a member of the RSGB.

I am a member of MADARS, the Moorlands & District Amateur Radio Society.
