Biography
Radio station M6LHQ is situated approximately 50 metres above sea level and is a QRP station operating at a maximum RF peak power of 10 watts.
The station has a 6 metre mast with a 5 element yagi antenna for 2 metre wavelength operation and a 5 element yagi antenna for 70 centimetre wavelength operation.
The station is also equipped with a 6 metre vertical antenna for operation on high frequency bands and a 2 element yagi antenna for 6 metre operation. There is also a co-linear antenna for VHF and UHF and various monoband dipole antennas and loaded whip antennas.
The operating equipment is a Yaesu Sommerkamp FT-77 together with it's antenna tuning unit, a Yaesu FC-700. The station also has a Yaesu FT-1907 for UHF operation, a Kenwood TM-231E for operation on VHF frequencies and an Alinco DR-MO6 with an MFJ-906 antenna tuner for 6 metre operation. The station also has a Xiegu G1M transciever and various hand held radios.
The radio equipment is powered by a 12 volt, 61 Ah lead acid battery.
The station also operates using Amateur Radio Satellites, APRS Packet Radio, and other Data Modes.
