Biography

About me

I have been licensed since November 2005 in one form or another but have held this full callsign since December 2008. My previous callsigns were M3LRJ and 2E0LRJ until gaining my Advanced license and call M0TEF.

I love to work QRP using simple setups and portable ops. I am currently learning morse to get me on the air with CW, it is taking me time but I am making some contacts. If you are one of my CW contatcs then many thanks for your patience with my basic skills.

I am a keen photographer and lecture in this subject at the local college here in Lincoln. I have two young children, my two girls are aged 4 and 6 years and often like to listen to the radios with me spending time sharing their father's hobby.

I am a member of Lincoln Shortwave Club http://www.g5fz.co.uk and often use the radio in contests and special events from the club shack.

My home WAB Worked All Britain square is SK97

Equipment

Current radios in the shack are a Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark V, Yaesu FT-847, A Drake TR-7 and a Yaesu FT-817, any radio can be configured to run into the amplifier to give 400w output on HF. The location is aprox 45m ASL here. The Drake TR-7 ( a favourite of mine) is a simliar vintage to me and is only one month older than I am.

The location is aprox 45m ASL here.

Antennas are:

• HF - a Butternut HF-9V vertical antenna for 80m,40m,30m,20m,17m,15m,12m,10m & 6m.

I also use wire dipoles for 40m & 80m at 10m above ground
