Biography

Born in 1960.

Ham since 1977 before getting Industrial Engineer on Electronics in 1982. As not every ham pronounce my first name "Germain" correctly in french, my name on the radio is "GER" since the beginning.

I'm living on the address shown since 1986.

I worked in the national Steel Company called "ArcelorMittal", actually the biggest in the world.
Since July 2018 I'm retired.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

In my parent's house in KAYL - I've got the chance to work with a FD-4 Wire antenna ENTIRE UNDER THE ROOF. Also here, under the roof, some tests were made to work with one rotary element Quad 10-15-20m. Perhaps one or the other Oldies had had contact from 1977 to 1984 on SSB with a station in KAYL/Luxembourg working with a HF-Wire-Antenna under the roof.
That was me !!
Now times have changed.
In Huncherange (8km far away).
I'm working now with :
YAESU FT-dx-5000 (sometimes with my ACOM 1500) or FT-857D
into my Butternut HF2 or Double-Dipol for 40/80m
or into a 6 band-two element cubical-quad (6m -20m) on 3x8m high aluminum telescopic tower.
*** Sometimes the 20m feeder of the quad is used for 40m ***
See some pictures on QRZ.COM.
