About me

Stein-Roar Brobakken, LB3RE/K3RAG on the air known as RAG since 1994, Stein Roar is translated Stanley Roger in English, when I was 14 years old my name was too long CW.....I was running straight key for 1 year .. so RAG was chosen like this Roger > Rog > Rag .. It was perfect nickname for cw :)

I was first time in touch with CW about 1985-1986 during some CW training in LA5G, but due age limit I didn't got my B-license with callsign LB3RE in age of 14-15 year. LB was only allowed to use CW Mode and max 15 watts in HF band. It took me a year with a TS-520 and Window FD-4 Antenna to work 1200 QSO...That was great experience :) My birthdaygift@March 12th for my 16th birthday was from NPT LA6FJA was callsign agreed with NPT.

RTTY: I work more RTTY than SSB!You can print LB3RE/LJ3RE in almost every RTTY contest if I have a time.

LN prefix of Norway can ONLY be used during selected contests(CQ WW, CQ WPX, CQ 160, RGSB IOTA etc), which also let us 1KW and SSB/CW above 1850~1900 khz on 160 meter.

HF Bandplan of NORWAY can be found here. New is that we have full band in 60 meter from 5260~5410 khz
