Biography

My name is Eirik M. Moen, callsign LA5ZUA.

I received my amateur radio license on July 11, 2025, after many years as an active SWL. Finally, I took the step and joined the bands as a licensed operator.

I'm active on most HF bands and enjoy both casual QSOs and exploring propagation. One of my main goals is to collect QSL cards and make new friends around the world.
I’m a member of NRRL and the QSL bureau, so I appreciate receiving QSL cards.

My current station setup includes:

ICOM IC-7300

Homebrew loop antenna (20x20x20x20 meters) with a 1:1 balun

I'm always experimenting and learning – I love the simplicity and joy of making contacts with homebuilt gear.
