Biography
I was born and raised in west Phoenix, (Maryvale) Arizona. I served 11 years and 11 months in the US Army. Trained as: Antenna Specialist, Helicopter Crew Chief / DoorGunner. I served air-combat for two years in VietNam with the 334th Armed Attack Helicopter Company in Bein Hoa for a year from August 1966 to 1967. My second tour was with the 11th Air/Cav Regiment (Black Horse) at Dion, VietNam from Sept. 1970 to 1971. The rest of the time I was in MARS RADIO. I was assigned to many MARS radio stations.
I started working with GTE telephone company from1979 to 2007 retiring in Kennewick, Wa.

I have written a non-fiction manual: Constructing HF Wire antennas --- AS SEEN ON THE TV SHOW 'HAM NATION' episode 31-forward. A group of my army buddies and I started working with, re-designing, and building J-poles while serving at the Army Mars Radio station KR6USA / AB6USA in Okinawa Japan back in 1971 to 1972. I have enjoyed J-poles ever since.
The below pictures (on QRZ @ KR7KZ) is my 2/440 mobile J-pole. This J-pole is a 3/16th Stainless steel 2/440 dualbandmobile antennafed by inductive coil tuning. The base plate is anodized black. You will notice in my diagram item 'B'. For 2 meters only, use 43/4". For 2/440 use item 'B' as 3 3/4". See drawing below.
