Biography

I'm a brand new ham as of November2023! I have been in the radio / electronics hobby (building kits) for many years, but decided to expand my knowledge and become a ham as a hobby for my retirement years. I'm very excited about my new adventure......so much to learn!

********Update: I passed my General test today! (11/30/23)********

Equipment

Icom IC-718 as my base rig and a UBITX-V6 as a QRP rig. I built the UBITX from a kit and I'm always tinkering with new hardware and software modifications. I also have a Yaesu FT-65 for 2 meters.

I'm Currently using a Nelson Antenna : 1/2 Wave end-fed dipole approximately 65 feet long with an 80 meter resonator. I'm also experimenting with a Sigma Euro-Comm SE SF X80 with the HF-360 add on plus kit for 10-80 meters.
