Biography
Former US Army Huey Crew-Chief and USCG Electronics Tech.
Then a Systems Analyst for a Fortune 500 Aerospace Corp.
My main reason for getting my ticket was my interest in emergency comms, but I enjoy building DIY/Home-brew gear and learning the operational side of radio while I re-learn the electronics involved.
Licensed in Oct 2017 as a General class, upgraded to Extra in March 2018.
Net Control Operator for GA's S.E District ARES VHF Net, and former Net Manager for the
SE District.
VE with a local group operating under the Laurel VEC.
Current projects:
1. Improving my sloper antenna. I'd like to wind a better UNUN for it.
2. Hanging my DIY 80m-6m Carolina Windom in the tall pines at my QTH.
3. Getting HRD's 3-Zillion options & settings configured properly, so I can actually
start learning how to use the software well.
