Biography

Previous KB6ASW, Novice in the 70,s. life took a front seat till I retired, and got my General spring 2018. After 30 years of wanting to do some SSB DX, my first contact on a homebrew OFCD was South Cook Islands, 20 meters, 100 watts. I am now hooked. I enjoy mostly Ft8 atm, its addicting. Got my oldest friend to finally go take his ham test, he got a general also. We been talking about making a contact since about 1976. Finally did it, me at 5 w, him on dummy load, his house to mine is now about 200 feet LOL.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Yaesu FT-1030A power supply to a Yaesu FT450D,to MFJ VERSA TUNER II, To an MFJ-815D Meter, To a homebrew 5/8 wave 20 meter vertical with a 10 ft x 60 ft aluminum box for a ground plane, or straight thru to a 7 band Buckmaster at about 60 feet.

TYT TH-9800 to some crappy 10/6/2/70cm vertical that came with it, never fired up, having too much fun on HF

Planning a 3/8 wave inverted L for 160 meters. I have several 100 plus feet tall oaks on the place.
