Biography
Welcome to my page!
I was first licensed in 1980 as KA3EWW... Licensed once again in 2014 as KK6QON following my retirement from U.S. Government service... I am truly amazed at all the changes in our hobby during that hiatus...
My primary interests are CW, FM Simplex and QRP...
On VHF/UHF, I do what I can with 25 watts or less and indoor antennas...
For HF, I operate mostly on CW, using simple wire antennas into which I run 30 watts or less... Usually, I hang out on the 40 meter band... During contest weekends, I escape to the 17 meter band...
In Virginia, due to HOA restrictions, I use a Yaesu FT 891, running 10 watts into an indoor end-fed wire dipole...
For part of the year, I am able to operate from my other QTH in California where I do not have power or antenna restrictions... There I operate a Yaesu FT 450-D running 30 watts into a OCF wire dipole on the roof...
My SKCC number is 17440
I enjoy rag chewing and look forward to meeting you on the air...
