Biography

Go by Dean (middle name) instead of 'Earl'.

New to ham radio at 65 years young. Got my Technician's license in 2012 but too shy to make any contacts. Upgraded to General in March 2019 and picked up two pristine Flex-3000s for a good price. Made a handful of SSB contacts, but mainly playing with PSK31 lately. Hope to get my old Kenwood TS-940SAT on the air at some point.

General is just a 'license to learn'. So much to learn and so little time.

Cheers and 73.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

End Fed 80-10 meter wire at 28 ft max inverted V - East/West orientation - MyAntennas.com

Flex-3000 - 2 actually, one soon to be a portable for field use with old laptop.

Homebrew PC running Windows 10 Pro and FLDIGI and KE9NS's enhanced PowerSDR software.

Kenwood TS-940SAT on the shelf - New power supply from CompuDigital/K6IOK - really runs C-O-O-L. A true classic boat anchor. Hope to work it soon, but have been having too much fun with SDR.
