Biography
Update I bought a new yeasu FT-710 and Currently use it for SSB phone and FT8.
Im using the fabled Yeasu FT-847 earth station with a Yeasu FC-20 tuner a 1/2 wave vertical antron A99 with the top section replaced with the firesik 5/8 wave a99w, a ringo ranger 1/2 wave vertical for 6 meters and a Tram 1480 dual band for vhf/uhf, and a Hustler 6btv 1/4 wave unigain antenna. I also started into FT4, FT8, and JS8CALL using a FT847 signalink but had to add my RT Systems programming cable (CAT) to make it PTT work flawlessly (that wasn't mentioned in the kit) read an 15 year old forum board to figure it out. Also in DMR, sota and pota. I use LoTW and QRZ for logging.
I immediately confirm contacts on qrz and lotw. as long as you have a 6 digit grid square itu and cq zones pota and sota identifiers ready as required by newly updated log requirements... sigh..
