Biography

CQ CQ CQ, this is KI6YIP calling CQ and standing by. I am a Member of the North Florida Amateur Radio Society of Jacksonville, Florida and also a member of The River City Amateur Radio Communications Society of Sacramento, CA and a member of ARRL.

I have two additional call signs. The call signs of 9L1HR from Sierra Leone and EL2BG from Monrovia, Liberia since being an operator in 1978.

I am a civil engineer and have been working in the engineering field since 1983.

I just added a brand new Yaesu FT-857 with and AT-100ProII and a SEC 1223 power supply.

I am an amateur photographer and a student pilot. I love the outdoors and enjoying travelling all over the world.

Equipment

My operation consist of a number of inverted Vees, an AV-5 vertical antenna from Cushcraft, with a total height of 86 inches (218.4 cm) and a Porta-J antenna (J-pole), duo-band 144 and 440 MHZ.

By way of equipment, my station consists of:

PACKET: the AR-1200 Mobile Data Terminal Tempo MPP1 Mobile Packet Printer; for

2M: Icom IC-02E, Yaesu FT-727R, Alinco Dj-175 and Azden PCS-4000; for

HF: Yaesu FT-757GX with the Yaesu FC-757AT, the Realistic HTX-100 for 10M and the Kenwood TS-440S with the built in antenna tuner.
